Boarding Wellbeing

Our boarding wellbeing programs are the first-of-its-kind in Australia. Sessions are designed and delivered by qualified Womn-Kind mentors who are also recently graduated boarders. Our mentors have a deep understanding of the challenges of living away from home and in a co-living environment with complex responsibilities and pressures. We speak in the language of young people through the way we share experiences, tips, tools and sharing advice when it comes to thriving in the boarding environment, creating healthy habits and embracing life at school. We bring a homely feely to wellbeing -  we’re talking face masks, yoga and mindfulness sessions, making brain foods bowls and scavenger hunts.

Our boarding wellbeing programs often involve regular sessions that compliment existing wellbeing frameworks in schools to aid a collaborative and engaging approach. We take some of the emotional pressure off boarding staff while exploring a diverse range of topics with boarders.

School Programs

Womn-Kind school programs have been designed by young people, for young people, with the support of our network of allied health professionals. Session outcomes are influenced by the UN sustainability goals, Australian Curriculum and best practice. Our school programs are delivered by Womn-Kind mentors, who are qualified in Mental Health First Aid, aged between 25 and 30 and have some form of relevant lived experience.

We tailor every program to meet the needs of each school and cohort. Programs combine the Womn-Kind values, school values and goals for the session/s to ensure a sustainable impact. Our tried and tested approach to wellbeing continues to improve the overall mental health of young people across the country due to our focus on preventative, relatable and engaging content.

We offer one-hour programs, half-day programs, full-day programs, assembly keynote speeches, weekly programs and fortnightly programs. We believe, the more frequent, the more effective.

Public Workshops

Could your local area benefit from a Womn-Kind workshop or do you want to organise a private workshop for a community group? Our wellbeing workshops help to close the gap in effective mental health support and education for adolescent girls and gender-diverse young people. We create an experience that leaves young people feeling cared for, loved, capable, strong, important and as though they belong.

Facilitated by Womn-Kind mentors, our wellbeing workshops can be incorporated into events and activities for young people Australia wide.

We also deliver seminars for parents, carers, educators and community leaders who regularly engage with teenagers of have a teenager of their own. These sessions help to equip people with insights, tools, advice and resources that assist in supporting teenagers in a way that optimises their mental health. Please get in touch if you would like to work together to deliver a community session.

Knowing the mentors will be in the boarding house every Sunday night is the nicest way to end the week and the best way to start the week ahead!! I just love it!

The sessions we do are actually so fun, I feel like I learn so much and it really brings the whole year together. It’s really refreshing to have meaningful and open conversations and it makes it so much easier talking about things with the mentors knowing they really get it and can guide us with advice.
